Sharp S3 Android One phone is launched in Japan

Sharp has launched the S3 Android One phone in Japan. The device is a successor to the Sharp S2 Android One phone, launched in 2017. The phone will sell for a price of $300 (Rs 19,000 approx). 

Jio will release an Android Go 4G phone running Oreo in India.

Sharp S3 Android One smartphone – specs and features

The Sharp S3 is a mid-range device with a 5.0-inch IGZO display. The display offers a resolution of 1080 x 1920p and is not bezel-less. Snapdragon 430 processor runs the device with 3GB of RAM. It carries 32GB of ROM, expandable up to 256GB.

The phone has a 13MP rear camera sensor with a 5MP selfie shooter. Additionally, the Sharp S3 lacks a fingerprint sensor. It weighs 143g and has a 2700mAh battery. The phone offers a 4G VoLTE talk time of 1,319 minutes and a standby time of 605 hours. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, and USB Type-C.

Jio and the other operators are all set to invest a huge amount to avoid call dropping.

The phone comes in four colour variants – Turquoise, Navy Black, Pink and White. Right now, the device is available on Y!mobile in Japan. It is likely to launch in Taiwan soon. Nothing else is known about its global availability as of now.
