Sony’s mystery device with model number H8266 has resurfaced online on AnTuTu benchmarking website. After being spotted in December on Geekbench, the AnTuTu sighting assures of some hardware components on board the phone that was previously there.
We already witnessed the Snapdragon 845 SoC in December and we’re seeing it again today. The unnamed Sony H8266 is shown running Android 8.0 Oreo and this particular model carries 4GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of storage. The new piece of info revealed here is the screen resolution, 1080 x 2160p. This clearly suggests the handset will feature a Full-HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display. Current info suggests that this model might be a variant of the Xperia XZ2. Hence it will succeed the Xperia XZ1.
From our previous encounter, we recollect the Sony H8266 to sport a dual camera setup on the rear as well as IP65/IP68 water resistance. As far as we know, Sony is expected to unveil two handsets at MWC 2018 – Xperia XZ2 Pro and the Xperia XZ2. Both these handsets are also expected to sport bezel-less displays.
The Xperia XZ2 Pro will be cream of the crop. Reports state that it could feature a first-ever 4K OLED display. Other rumoured specifications include Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and dual 12MP cameras.
