Sony is all set to upgrade its XZ3 flagship smartphone this year and so far we have the fair idea on what to expect. But a new leak has taken me by surprise. The surprise element is 21:9 aspect ratio, which is something no smartphone manufacturer has attempted or even thought so. I shouldn’t be quite shocked since we already had a gist about a tall display is in the work on Sony’s Xperia XZ4 smartphone. But the live leaked image has given me mixed feelings.
We knew from a set of leaked renders that Sony could be sporting a 6.5-inch large screen display, which comes to think isn’t quite big as big when you take bezel-less design. And one with no notch! Sony could be breaking a barrier here on its Xperia XZ4 flagship phone this year.
Sony Xperia XZ4: Leaked in the wild!
A new leak, courtesy of Sumahoinfo, hints at 21:9 aspect ratio display, which would be as crazy as it sounds. Note that the leaked image shared is said to be a real-life image of the device, but not render. Which makes us wonder that whether Sony has finally done what it should have done a long time ago; a bezel-less display.
That’s enough about the displays design talk, looking at the image, it is also believed to be running on the latest Android 9 Pie based operating system. The pill-shaped button gave away that hint, in case you’re wondering. The Pie-based Ui could bring native gesture navigation, which Sony has been shying away to introduce on its custom interface in previous versions.
Coming to the internals, the Sony Xperia XZ4 could be sporting a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC inside, which would make it the fastest smartphone. There were some leaks that suggest it could also come with a 5G modem support, which in terms supports the SD855 processor. Accompanying the chipset could be a 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage combination. Further, it may pack a 3,900mAh capacity and retail the 3.5mma audio jack.
