Talk about a trend catching up so soon! It was only yesterday when Meizu announced its plan to release the world’s first hole-less smartphone. Today, the Meizu has competition already. In China, Vivo has announced its latest innovative phone dubbed as Vivo Apex 2019. This smartphone doesn’t have any ports as well as any physical buttons. Which means there are essentially no holes available on this device. Let’s talk about the Vivo Apex 2019 specification below.
Vivo Apex 2019 specs
To be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC, Vivo has announced that its new Apex phone would be sporting massive 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. These internal specs itself will make it one of the most powerful smartphones when available for purchase in the market. The primary tease of its new Apex 2019 is the unibody design with no holes. Some may call it a hole-less display, talk about being creative.
Just like Meizu Zero, the hardware buttons and ports are removed on this Apex 2019. This all-new Vivo phone won’t be offering any charging ports, audio or speaker grill for that matter. For charging this device, the company has introduced a magnetic charger instead of completely relying on the wireless charging as compared to the Meizu Zero.
The Vivo concept phone that is unveiled today will have a 6.39-inch display and it will relatively has a bezel-less display unlike. For the company to provide a bezel-less display with no pop-up selfie, slider selfie, or any kind of notch of selfie cutout design, they decided to completely remove the selfie camera. So, the Apex 2019 doesn’t come with a selfie camera at all.
Vivo Apex 2019: No selfie camera
It isn’t first to not come with a camera on the front, as the company’s NEX Dual doesn’t come with a dedicated selfie camera. But interestingly, it doesn’t miss out on giving a workaround, as the dual display functionality allows it to utilize the dual rear camera setup to take selfies. But nothing of that sort is said to be offered on Vivo’s APEX 2019. The rear camera setup comprises of 12MP + 13MP setup with LED flash in a vertical fashion on the center top of the rear side.
Note that the company hasn’t mentioned anything about the eSIM connectivity, but it has confirmed that the device won’t have a SIM card slot. So, the only other way around is to offer eSIM connectivity, which must be announced when the device makes debut in the market. Further, with the involvement of the SD855, the handset would be coming with 5G network support. It goes without saying that there is no pricing announcement and availability as of now is unknown.
