Vivo V11 could follow in Oppo’s footsteps with “V” notch design

Vivo V11

After Honor, it is now Vivo’s turn to bring the next version of the notch that we saw first with Oppo’s R17. The “V” shaped notch or what some call the water drop notch is the evolution of the rectangular cut-out that started its life on the iPhone X and migrated on to Android. Or, rather, it is an evolution of the circular Essential Phone cut out. Whatever the case may be, we have new images believed to be of a certain Vivo V11 today.

Vivo V11: Successor to V9

The new images leaked by a Russian and Belarus blog show the new notch design clearly on the handset. Also, the Belarus source says that the alleged Vivo V11 will launch in September in China. There is also a flurry of specs listed on the source’s website which we write down below.

If the leak is legit, the Vivo V11 should harbour a 6.41-inch display with Full-HD+ resolution of 1080x2340p and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The V9 successor also has a dual camera setup which is quite visible and leak suggests a 12MP + 5MP duo. The front camera housed in its new notch is thought to be a 25MP shooter. What’s more surprising is that the Vivo V11 will also feature an on-screen fingerprint reader becoming the most affordable handset to do so.

It won’t be short on power too as the report says a Snapdragon 660 SoC should power the handset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A word of caution though, there was a similar leak yesterday that showed the same notch but the device therein was labelled Vivo X23. With no clues as to which is which, we would rather not make any concrete statements on the identity of this particular handset leaked today.
