Vivo V21 series is now official in the country. The company has announced its latest Vivo V21 5G smartphone, and it comes with a bigger 44MP selfie camera, which is not the first time Vivo is implementing in its smartphones. It did so with Vivo V20 Pro, and the Vivo V20 launched last year. But this time, Vivo is bringing optical image stabilization to the front camera as well. The latest 5G handset also claims to be India’s slimmest smartphone.
Vivo V21 5G — Design and Display
The new Vivo V21 comes in a sleek design measuring 7.29mm in thickness, featuring an ultra-slim matte glass build. The frame across the device is flat, and on the back, it has AG matte finish build, which looks appealing. There’s a dual-tone finish on the rear as well, and the company is claiming the device will be providing a comfortable grip with the matte finish on the back. Vivo V21 5G will feature three colour variants: Sunset Dazzle, Dusk Blue, and Arctic White.
On the front, there’s a 6.44 inches display, which is an E3 AMOLED display with refresh rates of up to 90Hz. It is a punch-hole display that features Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 20:9.
Vivo V21 5G — Tech Specs
The Vivo 21 packs in a MediaTek Dimesnity 800U chipset make the device 5G ready with dual 5G SIM support (SA+NSA). It utilities ARM Cortex A76 cores with clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz. For graphics, it has an ARM Mali-G57 MC3 GPU. The SoC is accompanied by up to 8GB of RAM with extended virtual RAM support (meaning you can get an additional 3GB); supports up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. There’s a microSD expansion option also available for up to 1TB. Further, the device ships with Android 11 based Funtouch 11.1 out of the box.
The elephant in the room has to be the bigger 44MP selfie shooter with OIS enclosed in the punch hole cutout display on the front. It boasts as the world’s first 44MP OIS camera with a bigger aperture of f/2.0. It also features many camera-specific features, including Night Selfie mode, AI Extreme Night mode, Super Stable Selfie video mode, and Eye Autofocus.
Similarly, on the back, there is a triple-lens setup featuring a 64MP OIS Night camera accompanied by a 120-degree 8MP wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera (4cm). It also features ultra-stable video mode, a double exposure mode, to name a few. The primary lens also has a bigger f/1.79 aperture.
There’s a decent 4000mAh battery powering the Vivo 21 5G. It supports the company’s 33W FlashCharge – fast charge technology and charges through USB Type-C.
The other highlights of the device include 5G connectivity, besides Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and in-display fingerprint sensor, for authentication.
Vivo V21 5G — Pricing
The Vivo V21 5G launched in India at Rs 29,990 for the 8GB+128GB variant; the larger variant 8GB+256GB retails at Rs 32,990. Pre-booking of the device starts on April 29th and will be available from May 6th.
