Vivo is gearing up for two launches in the upcoming week of March. The first of them will be in China on March 19. Vivo will be releasing the Vivo X21 with an in-display fingerprint reader. The other launch event is set to take place in India on March 23. Here, the Vivo V9 will debut as a successor to the Vivo V7. The Vivo V9 has been in the news for the past week more so for its design, rather than its hardware. Apparently, not only the handset has leaked but also the retail boxes have been shown off online.
The latest round of leaks regarding the handset comes from Twitter and throw some light on internal hardware. The leak is a screenshot grab of an e-commerce store listing of the Vivo V9. The listing reveals the Vivo V9 will be one hell of a mid-range phone. The handset comes with a 6.0-inch AMOLED screen with Full-HD+ resolution. At the core of the Vivo V9 is the Snapdragon 660 CPU with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage.

The camera is vaguely described as a combo of 12MP + 8MP rear shooters. While the front camera is described as a 24MP wide-angle lens with Face Unlock capability. Software-wise, the Vivo V9 runs Android Oreo with FunTouch OS 4.0 fueled by a 3,250mAh battery.
Price and availability
The price on the listing appears as IDR 4,999,000 (roughly Rs. 23,700, $305).
Some more images revealing the retail packaging of the handset have also appeared online. The package shows Vivo’s sponsorship for the 2018 FIFA World Cup set to take place in Russia. The Vivo V9 will probably compete with the Oppo F7 when it launches in India. With both the handsets sporting almost same looks, it will all come down to a hardware showdown.
