It looks like Vivo will set a perfect showdown with Oppo as it plans to launch the Vivo V9 on March 27. Oppo is also expected to introduce an Oppo F7 at around the same time. Vivo’s latest upcoming smartphone has been teased on billboards in Indonesia recently signalling its release. But ahead of launch, live images of the handset have presumably appeared online.
The Vivo V9 is another handset that looks up to the iPhone X for inspiration. The front image isn’t clear in the live image but previous billboards have already confirmed this. If there’s any consolation, the cutout is much smaller than the iPhone X. However, there are bottom bezels which don’t exist on the iPhone X. If it were us, we could take the bigger notch any day and trade it for bottom bezels.
Talking about the rear, it comes with a familiar square fingerprint reader and a dual camera setup. In comparison, the Vivo X21 is tipped to feature an in-display fingerprint reader. The Vivo V9 is expected to come with a dual SIM slot.
Camera-wise, the Vivo V9 is believed to feature a 24MP selfie sensor and a Snapdragon 660 SoC. This should give the Vivo device an edge over the Oppo F7 if it features a MediaTek Helio chip.

Other specifications have not yet appeared yet but there’s still sometime before the launch. The Vivo V7 successor is projected to be priced around Rs 25,000.
