Today, Vivo has given the confirmation that they will unveil the Vivo X20 Plus smartphone on January 24. The phone was showcased at the CES 2018 and it is the world’s first smartphone with an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone received its 3C certification and about a week ago, the X20 Plus received its TENAA certificate as well. Vivo will unveil the smartphone in Beijing, China. Although not much is known about the specs and pricing front, we can be sure that this phone resembles the Vivo X20 in many aspects.
The unique fingerprint scanner of this phone will have a Clear ID 9500 optical under-display fingerprint sensor by Synaptics. This sensor is rumoured to be placed between the OLED screen and the glass panel. The scanner is not only capable of unlocking the phone in seconds but it can also be used for authenticating payments.
As always, the rumour mill and leaks are speculating a lot about the upcoming device. The Vivo X20 Plus is likely to support 6.43-inches OLED screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The smartphone will be running on the Android 7.1 Nougat and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset.
The handset will support a dual-camera setup with 12MP + 5MP sensor on the rear and a 12MP front selfie shooter. According to sources, the price of the Vivo X20 Plus will be around $625.
