Vivo’s much-publicized X21 smartphone launched yesterday in China in two variants. The company had been teasing the product for some time that would come with the fingerprint embedded under the screen. The Vivo X21 which is the successor to the Vivo X20 comes in a standard variant that has no in-display fingerprint sensor. The other is the Vivo X21 UD that comes with the hidden sensor.
Vivo X21 Specifications
Much about the device was known in the run-up to the launch. Its highlight is the 6.28-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display that features a very common notch. Beneath all those pixels rests the mighty Snapdragon 660 chip assisted by an Adreno 512 GPU. The Vivo X21 has two storage choices of 64GB/128GB but only 6GB of RAM. As expected the upper-midrange category handset runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box flavoured with FunTouch OS 4.0.
In the optics section, the Vivo phone has a dual camera setup of 12MP + 5MP. The primary sensor has a f/1.8 aperture while the secondary sensor has a f/2.4 aperture with LED flash. The front of the 12MP selfie shooter comes with the obligatory beatuification features as well as Face Wake.
Keeping the lights on is a 3,200mAh battery that also supports fast charging. The dual SIM handset is relatively light weight at 156.2 grams. It has 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 5.0 support as well.
