A couple of weeks back, we heard rumours about a 10GB RAM smartphone that would soon be paraded by Vivo as a new flagship. Today there are some more fresh tidbits coming from Weibo adding to that story. While earlier rumours weren’t very sure on the identity, this particular source says it will be the Xplay 7. Also, this smartphone will be more than just a pile of RAM and storage, if this new tip is to be believed. Take a look at the new info below.
Vivo XPlay 7 Specs
According to the tipster, the Vivo Xplay 7 will have first dibs on the first Snapdragon 855 chipset. Qualcomm’s upcoming SoC will be based on the 7nm process fabricated by TSMC and will have a dedicated NPU. That’s not all, the Xplay 7 will also boast of a Sont IMX586 CMOS sensor that has the highest 48MP resolution in mobile image sensors.
While I’m not a specs junkie, some upgrades do matter. Likewise, if Vivo also works on the software side of things, that 10GB of RAM can make the Vivo Xplay 7 a monster of a device. But we’re not finished with the tips. The Xplay 7 will also feature native 512GB storage. Not to mention an on-screen fingerprint reader and a more advanced face recognition tech armed with 3D TOF sensors.
All this for the price of 4,998 Yuan (Rs.51,300) and this can be a very compelling device if all the tips revealed today hold any steam. What are your thoughts on the inclusion of 10GB of RAM? Is this just showboating or it can be useful? Speak your mind in the sections below.
