Vivo Y93 launched in China, brings Snapdragon 439 SoC and a waterdrop notch

Vivo has launched it’s all new Vivo Y93 smartphone in China. The device comes with a clean, modern design along with some pretty interesting hardware under the hood.

Vivo Y93: First smartphone with Snapdragon 439

The Vivo Y93 comes equipped with the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor. In fact, the Vivo Y93 is the first device to pack the Snapdragon 439 chipset. The octa-core processor is clocked at 1.95GHz and has been paired alongside 4GB of RAM. As for storage, there is 64GB of inbuilt storage, but there is no word on microSD availability yet.

The Vivo Y93 comes with a 6.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. There’s a waterdrop notch at the top, which also houses the 8MP front shooter. On the back, the Y93 comes equipped with a 13MP+2MP dual camera setup. The Vivo Y93 makes use of the Face Unlock feature and does not come with a fingerprint scanner. It also comes with AI beautification and AR stickers. 

The device comes with Android 8.1 Oreo with Vivo’s Funtouch OS v4.5 on top of it. A 4,030mAh battery provides juice to the entire setup. It sports a microUSB port at the bottom, and there is no mention of fast charging. 

Vivo Y93 price and availability

The Vivo Y93 is available in two colors, Starry Black or Sunset Red. The device is already up for purchase on Vivo’s website and is priced at CNY 1,500 (~Rs. 15,800).
