We recently learned that Xiaomi topples the Samsung as India’s number 1 smartphone with the shipments of 41 million smartphones out of 137 million smartphones shipments in 2018. Now a new report has arrived from IDC, International Data Corporation, stating the Xiaomi has topped the charts sixth quarter since Q3 2017.
Xiaomi: A number one smartphone brand in India
Xiaomi has been stirring the pot, i.e. Indian smartphone industry, as the industry has been coined as the hottest smartphone market in the world. When regions like America and Europe are showing a decline in the growth of the smartphone shipments, India, on the other hand, is gaining the market at 10% growth rate. With a 28.9% market share in 2018, Xiaomi became the number one smartphone brand in India.
The most interesting takeaway is that Xiaomi could be ready to blow up its 2019 sale even higher, with the launch of its much-hyped Redmi Note 7 in India. As we all know the Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 have received quite a good response and looking at the pricing they were offered, its only fitting that Samsung could be trying to snatch back the title that it has been losing for more than a year now.
The South Korean giant could have yet another smartphone line-up ready to take on the likes of Xiaomi, Honor, Asus, and Realme. It could be the Galaxy A-series or it could be the next Galaxy M-series smartphone dubbed as M30. At this stage, it’s too early to come to any conclusions. But then again, if Xiaomi likes to take its PR activities to heights, it’s only fitting a brand like Samsung might just nail them down hard this year.
Either way, the consumers are in for a great show this year as well, and so are we as the reviewer of those phones. Let us know in the comment section what do you think about it, we would love to hear your thoughts, the discerning mobile buyers.
