Mi TV 4 launched in India

Xiaomi India is on a roll today. After launching the two much-awaited phones, the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the company has finally launched the Mi TV 4 in India. After launching at CES 2017, its arrival in India is a completely new branch of Xiaomi to be introduced. The smart TV is the world’s thinnest LED TV so far.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 – specs and features

As we mentioned earlier, the Mi TV 4 is the slimmest 55-inch LED TV in the world. Only 4.9mm thick, the television is even slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. Coming to specifications, the television comes with a 4K HDR display and 500,000+ hours of content. It is powered by the Amlogic 64 bit quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of native storage.

The Mi TV 4 also has Dolby Audio plus DTS-HD to give you a complete cinematic experience right in your home. Coming to connectivity, the smart TV has a support for 3 HDMI, 2 USB, High-speed Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0.

Patchwell OS and other features

The television comes pre-loaded with Patchwell, India’s first TV operating system which puts all the content right on the homepage. Xiaomi understands that choosing content can be difficult and hence, has introduced Patchwell. One can now stream content directly via the homepage using this OS.

With one search, a user can search by TV Shows, Actors, or even Cricket and the television will show you results from all Xiaomi’s partners in one go. Then comes the Mi Remote with a unique 11 button design. The remote is quite easy and comfortable to use. It also has Bluetooth so one doesn’t have to point at the TV to control it. Xiaomi has also talked about Profiles which will sort content out according to the taste of each family member. Truly smart, isn’t it?

Along with all this, the Mi TV 4 will not need two separate remotes to function with a Set Top Box. The company has collaborated with 48 brands to bring one remote and one interface to the user. The TV is priced at Rs 39,999 and it will be a Flipkart exclusive. The Mi TV 4 will go on sale from February 22 along with the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.
