Xiaomi is coming up with the Mi 7 soon. As can be expected, the phone has been subjected to a plethora of leaks already. The device leaked a few months ago and we only knew that it was nicknamed “dipper”. Now, we have a hand full of leaks and speculations which have basically figured out the major information regarding the phone.
Let’s look at the specifications, features, price and expected launch date of the Mi 7 in detail:
Xiaomi Mi 7: specs
The Xiaomi Mi 7 is likely to carry a 5.65-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160p. The phone appeared on GeekBench a month ago and cleared the aura of mystery surrounding it. The device was codenamed Dipper and the premium Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor was mentioned to be running it.
Along with this, the phone will come with 6GB of RAM and we are speculating 128GB of ROM to fo with it. The Xiaomi Mi 7 has also been speculated to run Android 8.0 Oreo by the same benchmark leak. The phone has also been leaked in images to show a notch on the top of its display. So, you can expect another Chinese OEM to follow the path of the iPhone X.
Additionally, the phone has been confirmed to carry an under-display fingerprint sensor by none other than the CEO of Xiaomi. The device will also boast of a Facial Recognition feature. However, we cannot comment on its prowess as of now. Another leaked image of the Mi 7 revealed a glass panel on the back which clearly shows a support for wireless charging. Xiaomi has also announced the Mi Mix 2s with wireless charging last month only.
We also know of the dual rear cameras on the back of this phone. The setup has been leaked to reveal 16MP + 16MP sensors on the back. The selfie snapper will have an 8MP sensor. Also, the phone will carry a support for the USB Type-C cable and we cannot really say if it will have a headphone jack or not.
The latest leaked images didn’t show any sign of a jack so it is quite possible for the phone to leave out the part. Along with this, the Mi 7 will primarily lack a physical fingerprint sensor. The phone does have a single speaker on the bottom though. The bezels on the front will be minimum and you can expect a groundbreaking performance by Xiaomi yet again.
Xiaomi Mi 7 Plus: will it actually exist?
Rumour mill has predicted the arrival of a top-end version of the Mi 7. The phone is allegedly nicknamed “Ursa”. While the original model will carry a 5.6-inch display, the latter will have a 6.0-inch OLED panel. We can’t really say if this is worth believing but leaks have hinted at a better Facial Recognition feature on the Mi 7 Plus.
The phone is also likely to carry an under-display fingerprint sensor, bigger RAM and a better camera configuration. It is also likely to carry a 4000mAh battery. These leaks have become almost regular now and we can expect Xiaomi to release these two devices either at the end of this month or sometime near May.
