Xiaomi is a brand known for its budget offerings, but the company also makes some amazing high-end devices. In fact, with the company now making Redmi a separate entity, Xiaomi can focus more on high-end and flagship products. The company already has the standard Mi and the MIX series. The Mi 9 is the next product in line from the company. And guess what? The upcoming device has already been leaked. That too by Xiaomi’s own product director. Well, let’s take a look at what the Xiaomi Mi 9 could look like.
Xiaomi Mi 9 leaked
Wang Teng Thomas, product manager at Xiaomi, had recently uploaded an image on his Weibo account. As seen in the image, Wang is seen holding a Mi 9 handset in his hands. One can only look at the back part of the device. The image was later taken down from his account. However, as we all know, the Internet doesn’t forget. The image was saved before its deletion, and have since then been shared online.
Xiaomi Mi 9 specifications
As you can see, not much can be made out of the device at this point. However, the leaked image does suggest that the device will come with a triple-camera setup at the back. Also, notice how Wang’s finger rests on the device. There is no fingerprint scanner on the back. Now, judging by the fact that the Mi 9 will indeed be the company’s flagship device, it is safe to say that it could come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. One can expect it to be powered by the same technology that Xiaomi showcased last month. The idea is to eliminate multiple failed attempts and increasing the screen area where the user’s fingerprint can be read. Additionally, judging by the looks of it, the device could come with a glossy finish at the back.
Under the hood, the Mi 9 is expected to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. It could be paired with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Rumors suggest that the device could come with a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution. Powering the device would be a beefy 3,500mAh battery. Additionally, it could come with the recently rumored MIUI 11.
Xiaomi Mi 9 price in India and availability
As of now, there is no word on the launch of the device. However, the rumor mill suggests that the device could be launched as soon as by the end of February. If that is the case, you should start to see more promotional activity from the company. Also, Xiaomi usually launches the Mi series only in China. This could change with the Mi 9, but the chances of that happening are still slim. Nonetheless, stay tuned to Mr. Phone to get notified on all the updates about the Xiaomi Mi 9 and everything else from Xiaomi.
