Xiaomi launched the Mi 9 and the Mi 9 SE at this year’s MWC 2019. Now while all the attention has been on the device’s hardware and its cheap price tag, one more thing has now come into the highlight. You see, both the Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE have been launched currently only in China. There has been no official word from the company regarding the release of these smartphones outside China. However, new leaked images suggest that the company might actually be gearing up for that.
Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Global Release
At MWC 2019’s show floor, GizChina got their hands on a Mi 9 SE at the booth. What they noticed was something quite peculiar. Considering that these phones were launched for the Chinese audience, they should be running MIUI China, with the English language. However, the devices over there seem to have MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM installed on them. Now that is quite interesting since Xiaomi doesn’t work on a global variant of a ROM unless it has plans to release the device globally too. Additionally, it comes with more localization options, pre-installed Google Play Services, and other extra features not found in Chinese ROMs.
