Xiaomi could be getting ready to introduce its next flagship smartphone. It’s last year’s Mi 8 didn’t get much talk of the town, probably because it looked a lot like the iPhone X. Today, a set of renders of the Mi 9 has been leaked by two different sources. Both of them suggest a waterdrop notch on the front and a triple rear camera setup on the rear. Let’s take a look at these renders and what they reveal about the specifications of the Mi 9.
Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi9 SE in the pipeline
The Chinese smartphone maker’s iterative successor, the Mi 8 could be arriving with triple rear camera support. And interestingly, one of the sensors would be a large 48MP resolution IMX 586, which is supped to be the primary lens on the upcoming Redmi Note 7. The other two modules are believed to be an 18MP and 8MP sensors. On the front, it could pack a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor.
Coming to the display, the Mi 9 might sport 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display and could house anon-display fingerprint sensor like its predecessor, the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. There seems to be great care taken in terms of providing large real estate as the waterdrop notch could be implemented here. The Mi 9 is most likely to run the Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10.
Talking about the internals of the device, it may come with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. There could be two models; M1902F1T/A and MI1903F2A, one of which could likely be a Mi 9 SE. According to the report, the Mi 9 SE could be powered by a Snapdragon 7150, an unannounced Snapdragon 710 successor.
