Xiaomi has finally launched its most awaited budget offering, the Mi A2 in India. The phone was prone to quite a few leaks and even Amazon gave out a screenshot of the Mi A2 accidentally yesterday. The device has been launched at a starting price of Rs 16,999 which is a bit more than its predecessor, the Mi A1. If you’re looking to buy Mi A2, head over here. The first sale is on August 15, while it can be pre-order starting tomorrow at 12 noon. There will be a Jio Rs 2200 cashback offer and 4.5TB of data to be offered as well.
Xiaomi Mi A2: specs and features
Just like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is an Android One device. This means that you can finally say hey to all the latest Android updates by Google as soon as they are released. Coming to the major specs, the Mi A2 carries an attractive 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160p. The display is nearly bezel-less and comes without a notch. The frame of the phone is made of aluminium alloy and looks quite premium *and* slippery.
The camera department on the Mi A2 has certainly received some serious updates. It now comes with an improved 12MP + 20MP sensors on the back with a 20MP selfie snapper. A Dual LED flash is also included in the package and the main camera is placed vertically. The camera abilities of the phone are phenomenal but you’ll have to hang in there for our detailed full review.
The processor on the Mi A2 is the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, which is quite an upgrade over the Snapdragon 636 of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The GPU on the phone is the Adreno 512 for a decent gaming experience. There are three variants of the phone when it comes to RAM and ROM – 4GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. The battery capacity on this budget giant is 3010mAh and comes laden with a Quick Charge. Finally, Xiaomi has included the USB Type-C in the package and it’s quite a relief for all of us.
That being said, the Xiaomi Mi A2 lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device comes in three colours – Blue, Black and Gold. Is the Xiaomi Mi A2 an ideal stock Android device for you? Let us know in the comments section below.
