Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has leaked again and this time, the leak comes from XDA Developers. The leak has revealed some important specs and features of the phone through its firmware files. Let’s go through this leak to know what’s in store for us.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3: leaked specs and features
The display size and resolution of the phone has not been leaked yet. However, we do know that the phone will sport a dashing 18:9 aspect ratio display. This would be the first time that the Max-series by Xiaomi will get a bezel-less design. The device has been leaked to reveal a massive 5500mAh battery capacity. The Mi Max came with a 4850mAh battery capacity while the Mi Max 2 had a bigger 5300mAh battery capacity.
The Mi Max 3 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The phone is also likely to support wireless charging, for the APK of MiUI contains “wireless charging has stopped”, “position offset” and “please reposition” texts. Xiaomi is likely to produce phones supporting Qi charging this year.
A video and an image detailing the process of charging a Xiaomi phone wirelessly has been found in the firmware files. The Mi Max 3 will carry a dual rear camera setup with either the S5K217+S5K5E8 Samsung module or with the Sony IMX363. On the front, the device features the OmniVision OV2281 iris scanner and Samsung’s S6K4H7 sensor.
The leak also suggests the presence of Android 8.1 Oreo on the phone. However, nothing is confirmed as of now. For all we know, the Mi Max 3 might run MiUI 9 based on Android Nougat. The phone carries a support for dual-SIM, microSD card slot, IR blaster, LED light for alerts, aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth audio codecs. It is also speculated to carry dual speakers.
Nothing concrete is known about the phone’s release as of now. We are hoping for it to launch in May this year.
