It was just in late June that Xiaomi refreshed it’s one and only tablet offering with the introduction of the Mi Pad 4 in China. The new 8.0-inch tablet was quite a formidable offering especially when put aside Samsung’s timid A line of slates. However, Xiaomi has now launched its first 10-inch tablet in the shape of the Mi Pad 4 Plus today without delving much on ceremony.
As you would expect, the Mi Pad 4 Plus justifies its existence with a bigger display and battery. It has a 10.1-inch Full-HD display with 1920 x 1200p resolution. The panel is of WUXGA variety and has a 16:10 aspect ratio. The 7.99mm thick slate houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU that is clocked at 2.2GHz while the Adreno 512 GPU does the graphics-intensive duty.
There’s just a 4GB variant and there are two storage options – 64GB/128GB. Although Xiaomi has still not skipped on the micro SD card which is very nice to see. The Mi Pad 4 Plus will run Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI (exact version not known) with the power supplied by the mammoth 8,620mAh battery.
In terms of camera, you can expect the same sensors as on the smaller brother. A 13MP OV13855 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture while the front has a 5MP sensor with the same aperture. It also has a fingerprint reader on the front and face unlock options. The new tablet my Xiaomi also supports 4G LTE which is another good addition to its set of features.
The pricing for the 64GB is 1899 yuan (~$275 / Rs. 19,280) and for the 128GB is 2099 yuan ($304 / Rs. 21,310) for 128GB which is pretty decent value for money. The Mi Pad 4 Plus will go on sale starting 16th this month on Mi.com in China.
