This Xiaomi patent for dual selfie camera notched display is super ugly

1st April is gone, and the jokes are over. But damn, I so badly wish they weren’t. Xiaomi just got a patent requested for its new upcoming smartphone, and truth be told, it is absolutely bizarre. Like, literally bizarre. Don’t believe me? Well, let’s take a look.

Xiaomi double notch patent

Xiaomi has requested a new patent from the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO). This basically sees the selfie shooters go all the way down. That’s right. Get ready for the “Chin-notch”. No, that’s not the actual name, but that is what I will be calling it for sure!

As shown above, you can see a Pixel-style wide notch at the bottom. The notch houses the dual camera selfie setup. However, that’s not all. There are apparently two variants of this smartphone. And the second one is even more bizarre. Imagine the two selfie cameras, still at the bottom, but pushed aside to the corners. Yep, that’s right.

I’m not even kidding, these designs look weird and stupid, and so darn impractical. We all know that smartphone companies like to patent weird designs just in case. So here’s me hoping that this design never sees the light of the day.
