Xiaomi has launched its new smartphone in India, it is called Xiaomi Redmi 8. The new handset from the brand is priced at Rs N/A. It will retail in the country in 3 color variants including Black, Blue, and Red. The handset will be made out of Plastic. It is said to sport a 9.4mm thickness and weight at 190 grams.
Talking about the display of the Xiaomi Redmi 8, it is a 6.22-inches display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. This means the pixel density of the screen is at 271 ppi. It is an IPS panel, which comes with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen-to-body ratio of the device is at 81.7%. The company teases that its display has a Capacitive, Multi-touch, Scratch resistant, 2.5D curved glass screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
As far as the camera department is concerned, it packs a dual rear camera setup. Where the primary rear camera is of 12.0MP and the secondary rear camera is of 2MP depth sensor. It comes with a Touch-to-focus, Phase Detection AF, Phase Detection AF with Dual Pixel Autofocus technology. The rear camera is supported by an LED flash. For selfies, you can make use of the 8.0MP front camera.
Hardware and Software
The Xiaomi Redmi 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset, which comes with 8 Cores and clocks at 1.95 GHz. It is accompanied by up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity. It will be running on the MIUI V10 (Android 9.0 Pie). Note that the external storage is expandable. As far as the battery life is concerned, its 5000mAh battery juice claims a day’s life. There’s also support for 18W fast charging.
