Xiaomi has launched the Mi 6X, the successor to the Mi 5X (Mi A1) in China as a budget offering. We have been reporting various leaks and speculations about another budget device from the company. The Redmi S2 surfaced on TENAA some days ago and we came to know some of its major specifications. Eerily, the phone resembles the Mi 6X in many ways. The phone has been leaked in HD images today by a Czech website, Svetandroida.
The phone has been revealed in all its glory and what we have in the images is a Rose Gold variant of the Redmi S2. It is important to note that this phone has been speculated to carry a Face Unlock function. Xiaomi has added the feature on devices like the Mi Mix 2s and the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The presence of this function the Redmi S2 can make it an interesting buy for the consumers.
In the image, we see a device with dual rear cameras placed vertically with an LED Flash in between. The rear panel also contains a fingerprint sensor, which will assist the speculated Face Unlock feature. The volume rockers and power button are present on the right, with antenna lines curving by the bottom and top edges of the phone.
According to what we saw on TENAA, the phone was supposed to have a 3080mAh battery. However, this new leak has revealed the presence of a 4250mAh battery on the Redmi S2. Along with this, the phone is likely to have a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is speculated to run on the Snapdragon 625 processor with a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. The dual rear cameras are likely to have 12MP + 5MP sensors with a 16MP selfie snapper. On the top of it all, the Redmi S2 is likely to run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
