A great phone.
Vivo V9 has a 6.3" FHD+ IPS LCD screen. It has 19:9 aspect ratio. It has a notch and small bottom bezel. The notch houses the 24 MP front camera, earpiece, notification LED and sensors. The face unlock feature on this phone is not as sophisticated as the Face ID on iPhone X. The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is very fast and reliable. This phone can shoots 4K video on both the rear and front cameras. Sadly, there's no OIS or EIS for stabilization. Both rear and front camera can shoot potrait mode and there's a new feature called AR Stickers which functions just like the filters on Snapchat. The cameras doesn't do well in low light. Vivo V9 is powered by Snapdragon 626 and it has 4GB of RAM as well as 64GB of internal storage. Expect a smooth sailing when using this phone even for gaming. It has built-in game mode for those who don't want interruption when playing video games. Videos on YouTube can be watched in full screen after an update. Users can pinch to zoom to watch videos in 19:9 aspect. This phone runs on Android 8.1 out of the box. So, split screen multitasking and Picture-in-Picture mode can be accesed by those who want to use it. It has gestures navigations like on iPhone X for those who don't want to use the on screen navigation keys. Vivo V9 has a skin called Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1. Funtouch is a heavily customized skin that look and feel like iOS. Therefore, it does not have an app drawer. To sum it all up, Vivo V9 is a great phone for those who don't mind heavily customized skin on an Android phone. It runs everything smoothly thanks to the SD626 chipset and the 4GB RAM is enough for multitasking.
